Welcome to the New Edinburgh Tramways (NETCo) web site.

Mention a tramway for Edinburgh and until recently most people agreed that the city needs one. NETCo is a private sector venture that has been promoting just such a tramway since 1998. In that time we have helped convert the Council to trams (in our early days they briefed the media against trams) and they liked our route so much they adopted it themselves.

31/3/08 - The City of Edinburgh Council's tram project is causing even more trouble for local small businesses.
Encouraging small businesses was/is claimed to be an objective of the previous (Labour) and current (Liberal Democrat/Scottish Nationalist) Council administrations. How many small businesses on the route will survive construction of the Council's trams and are any business losses a price well worth paying for them?
